Since we're newbies to van building, there are going to be a lot of firsts. We tried to put off this first as long as we could, but the day finally came for us to do what we've been dreading - cutting a hole in our BRAND NEW van. If you want to install a camepervan fan, you're going to have to cut a hole in the roof and hope that you do it right the first time - because you don't get a second chance.
We're happy to say that everything went smoothly, the roof is watertight, and most importantly - no one lost a finger. In the video below, we provide a step-by-step process for our Maxx Air fan install and we discuss a few things that we weren't able to find in our research on installing a fan, including how to build a frame for the fan, how to determine the location of the fan, and our alternative to using Dicor.
