King Penguins

A pair of king penguins watching over their chick at Pinguino Rey, Chile. Ever since first seeing king penguins in the Falkland Islands several years ago, we've longed for another opportunity to observed these magnificent birds in the wild. Our second chance finally arrived this past April when we spent a cold and windy day photographing the colony at Pinguino Rey. With the colony flush with fat little chicks waddling around in puffy down coats, it was an opportunity that proved well worth the wait.
